Enthusiasts familiar with ATI's products will be aware that the graphics cards can be overclocked using ATI's overdrive utility.
The software provides you with the card's status, Asus EAH4870 clock speeds and temperature settings. Unfortunately, the software won't yield huge performance benefits — we actually received lower benchmark results in Crysis in our tests — so you may be better off with the factory-set Asus EAH4870 speeds.
Futuremark's benchmark revealed this slight — but noticeable difference in performance — with the EAH MATRIX managed an overall score Asus EAH4870 in 3DMark 06, in contrast to the score of we managed on the Sapphire Radeon HDwhich has the same specifications as the reference board. The back of the Asus EAH4870 where the VRM's are located are hot to the touch when idling and are very hot after a crash. All 4 of my case fans are on full speed, I have good airflow, and have even taken the cover off my case and pointed a house fan directly at my Graphics card, but it still crashes. That's the message from AMD about graphics cards. It's the same logic that helped the firm establish its CPU business, and it could work just as well in Asus EAH4870 world of video.

Or should you exercise prudence and caution in these times of financial uncertainty? Similiar specs Asus EAH4870 may seem pointless.
Playing 'Spec Sheet Spot the Difference' isn't fun: The only thing your money buys, in fact, is speed. For one thing, you won't be able to give it enough power: That's an awful lot of bandwidth, and to Asus EAH4870 mix a metaphor, without it the HD is trying Asus EAH4870 run the m through the eye of a needle.
