Cheap PSUs may operate outside of spec, or not shut down gracefully when overloaded, often sending damaging voltages into attached parts as they die. Onus Oct 16,2: I've been using the in builds for years, and haven't had one fail yet. Granted, they're basic builds most don't even have a [gaming] GPU in thembut I was running a HD on one of them for a while, no sweat. I've also read comments on other forums where they haven't lasted, or people have had problems with them. Overall, I think that makes them a gamble. Maybe they're perfectly fine; a lot of people have had no trouble with them.
Enough others have though, that it is a topic of discussion on those forums. Sorry to be so long winded, but there seem to be a lot of opinions of OCZ out there, and little hard data.
